ANTI-SPEEDING CAMPAIGN
Fellow Resident
Firstly we would like to thank in advance the residents who have offered their time and services to help operate the mobile speed indicator sign (SID) when it arrives, hopefully later this month or early next. So far four residents have come forward and we would like to think that there are more villagers who would like to help in this aspect of raising awareness of the speeding within the village who might put their names forward to the Parish Clerk, clerk@bramhamparishcouncil.gov.uk once the programme is up and running and is seen to be active. Because of the nature of the programme it will run for a long period of time, albeit the SID will be positioned at different sites and at different times, so there will be plenty of opportunity for residents to come forward. Training will be provided as appropriate.
Secondly we would like to thank APC Clothing and Nick Hall for the sponsorship of the Hi-vis yellow vests which will carry the Bramham Parish Council logo on the back. Evidence shows that the mere presence of one or more Hi-vis vests by the roadside, especially in association with a SID unit, is in itself enough to help calm the traffic.
For those already signed up a familiarisation training session and the inevitable safety paperwork , this will be provided soon after the unit has arrived.
Finally we continue to work on your behalf in collaboration with LCC Highways and the Neighbourhood Policing Team to try to make the village and the surrounding area a safer place for all road users alike.
