Leeds City Council is a committed partner to the White Rose Forest which aims to significantly increase woodland cover across West and North Yorkshire as part of the Northern Forest stretching from Liverpool to Hull.
The council’s ambitious vision for Leeds’ own contribution to the White Rose Forest is to practically double the number of trees in the district by working with landowners, farmers, communities to plant and protect more trees and by leading by example planting 50 hectares of woodland per year on public land. To work towards delivering that ambition, Leeds City Council are looking to promote to farmers and landowners in Leeds the support and opportunities available from the White Rose Forest partnership to help them consider whether tree planting is right for their land, help design planting areas and obtain grant funding.
