Leeds City Council will be delivering leaflets to Leeds households week commencing 4th December, informing residents of bin collection dates over Christmas and New Year (24th December – 7th January).
The service will only be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, with crews operating throughout the rest of the festive period, including Sundays. So that no-one misses out on their bin being emptied, collection days will change from Christmas Eve (Sunday 24th December), with those scheduled for Christmas Day being made a day early. Collections will then take place a day later than usual from Tuesday 26th December until Sunday 7th January, returning to normal from Monday 8th January.
The key message is: If your bin collection day falls on Christmas Day, it will be made a day earlier. If you are due a collection from Boxing Day onwards, that collection will be made a day later instead. All collections return to their normal scheduled days from Monday 8th January.
